INTEROCEPTION CURRICULUM Interoception is the ability to notice and connect bodily sensations with emotions. Research states that interoception is an important factor to the development of effective self-regulation skills within children, teens, and adults. Interoceptive challenges are very common in children with ASD, ADHD, anxiety/depression and behavioral challenges and traditional approaches to teaching self-regulation can be ineffective with these populations. The Interoception Curriculum is an evidence-based, systematic program that helps build interoceptive awareness and self-regulation. The occupational therapist can be available to co-facilitate groups for students who would benefit from this approach. For more information follow the link above to the website.
